First day of 2012 - arise and shine young man!
Well... it started at the same place where the New Year's eve ended - at the church. I was back at the church for the first Sunday worship of the year. And preaching was good:
"It's time to separate the law from the grace"
We all know that God is merciful and he treats everyone the same but we need to understand that his grace alone is not enough for us. In order to attain a higher calling, we have to follow the laws set, we have to be more disciplined and hold on to his word. Seems like there are many more areas I need to improve in my life.
After Sunday service, I followed my family for... apa lagi? Lunch la! We went to this shop called Kedai Makanan Vell0 Villas at Lebuh Penang. Okay, I have to admit - it was all worth it! The banane leaf food was awesome - especially the fish sambal. Home cook redefined! Entertainment was provided by none other than my 2 sisters - El Locos!
So here's the El Locos of my family! You know they're crazy just by looking at them!
Just when I thought everything was smooth sailing on the first day of the year, something heart wrenching happened. My mom found a cat which was injured and both the hind legs were practically useless. We tried to catch the cat and send it to SPCA once they're open in the morning, but that cat had different plans! It just ran away with all it's might into a small drain hole and hid inside - we tried to woo the cat out but it didn't work. We waited for another 30 mins in vain and still the small guy didn't come out.
That incident really disturbed me - I just can't understand how such things can happen. How would the cat feel? The pain it has to bear? Does cat have clinics they can visit? Do they consult their family or friends or someone they can share their pains? Damn! I'm so, so agitated right now!
And when I followed my family for dinner, I was not really bothered what's going on. I was not bothered that the burger and teh ais tasted like Heaven. All I had in mind was this small little furry guy and his fate. I hope God takes care of the cat!
